One of my all-time favorite scriptures is found in Philippians 4:19; “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

What an exclamation from the heart of an Apostle who had already suffered terribly for the sake of the Gospel and who would soon cheerfully lay his head on the chopping block for that same faith. It stands as a witness to the power of his faith that he could be so confident in his assertion. One can only imagine the plethora of emotions flooding Paul’s consciousness as he contemplated his past, present and future. Only in a close personal relationship could this depth of confidence in the veracity of God be developed. It was doubtless in the beatings, shipwrecks, attempted deifications by the fickle mob and in the deep sense of the Presence of God that his faith gelled into such a rock-solid foundation for him and for us as we read his words and face our own challenges.

My heart thrills as I digest again the eternal truth: God is our Source. The world around us may totter in time with the spouted rhythms of despair spewed by media sources clamoring for our attention. But our hearts as believers are fixed upon the Lord God of Heaven and Earth who has proven to be faithful and true to His Word. Hang onto these precious promises Saint of God. Do not allow yourself to be stampeded into fear, doubt and unbelief by those whose credo is, “if it bleeds, it leads”. Shouldn’t we rather stand firm in our commitment to God and His Word?

You have lived for Him long enough to know there is nothing you can possibly need that He does not supply. Oh I know, it can be rather easy to get one’s needs confused with wants generated by Madison Avenue. But you go ahead and build your house on the rock of your faith in God’s faithfulness. Differentiate between wants and needs, and then stand firm in your confidence in the God who is more than enough!

We are now nearly 4 weeks into 2014.   What have we done with the NEW YEAR the Lord has given to us?

Scripture tells us to worship Him in Spirit and in truth, with our whole heart.   My goal this year is to strive to in fact do that - when we worship Him either in our private devotions OR in corporate worship - let's truly forget about ourselves and others around us and in total abandonment Worship the King of kings!

He is worthy of all praise.    As Pastor said in his message on Sunday - when we say Halleluiah, I believe the host of angels around the Throne stop and take notice - we're worshiping God Himself!

This coming Wednesday evening, January 29th we'll gather at 7 PM for our Annual Celebration Service.  We'll look back on 2013 and review the blessings and accomplishments Battlefield AG has experienced - what a great time this will be.

But we cannot live in the past - we must push forward to reach the goal that He places before us - God has great things in store for His church in 2014.

Thanks for praying for your Pastors, praying for our upcoming services and then just forget about yourself, and others around you, when we gather each service to Worship Him.  HE is worthy of all our praise!

Love ya,   Pastor Phil
